Case studies

Gas Supply
On this project a hospital was upgrading their boilers and needed to increase the size of their gas supply. The project consisted of installing a 180mm pipeline from the hospital to the closest gas main 2.6km away.
This was originally planned to be trenched along a main road in to the local town and then 400 meters towards and into the hospital. After discussions with the planner it was decided to drill the entire length. Working within traffic management our drilling team managed to install an average of 600m of 180mm gas main a week. The work was completed months ahead of schedule saving further disruption to the local road network and residents.

Water Mains Renewal
Installation of over 4km of 90mm and 125mm water main tough ground conditions.

Water Main Upgrade
Upgrade of a water supply to a nuclear power station. Our drilling team installed 200 meters of 225mm water main which included crossing car park, a road and woodland.

Surface Water Drainage
Installation of 110 meters of 280mm surface water drainage alongside a railway line and through a protected wooded area.

Electric Cable Ducting
Various crossings including rivers, roads and ditches. Our drilling team installed various crossings of 225mm electric cable ducting and 110mm pilot cable ducting connecting a new electricity network.
